This is a field-based role requiring candidates to reside in the Sacramento, CA area, with primary work in the field traveling to client sites and occasional office attendance. Candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location will not be considered unless an accommodation is granted.
The minimum requirements are a HS Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of customer service experience, or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred skills include understanding of managed care principles and publicly financed health insurance like Medicaid and SCHIP, relationships with the community, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, ability to travel locally, and for Medicaid units, obtaining a Community Health Worker Certification within the first 6 months.
Strong candidates will have customer service experience, comprehension of cultural and linguistic needs of Medicaid and SCHIP populations, knowledge of local health and social services especially from community-based organizations, and the ability to travel locally with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
