Requirements

Dialysis RN experience is required
Registered Nurse (RN) license
Ability to float to various clinics in the area
Completion of CAP requirements to advance
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, move patients, assist with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet; occasional movement of equipment up to 200 lbs. with assistance

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plans, and notify supervisors or physicians as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
Direct and provide, in collaboration with staff, safe and effective hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms, documenting justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as a resource for the health care team; participate in staff training and orientation
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping; reschedule missed or insufficient collections
Identify expected outcomes, document and update nursing assessment and plan of care in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team
Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
Perform all essential functions under direction of Supervisor, with guidance from Clinical Educator/Preceptor, or in collaboration with other RNs
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
