Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP); required to complete CAP requirements to advance
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending, moving machines/equipment up to 200 lbs. (with assistance), lifting chemical/water solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
Work in a health care facility environment with potential exposure to infectious/contagious diseases, moderate noise, air temperature control
Capability for desk work, computer work, patient/staff/physician interaction; possible travel to training sites/other facilities

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust/modify treatment plan, notify Team Leader/Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Physician as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family’s basic learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
Direct and provide, in collaboration with staff, all aspects of daily safe/effective hemodialysis therapy delivery
Administer medications as prescribed/approved algorithm, document justification and effectiveness
Initiate/assist with emergency response measures
Serve as resource for health care team; participate in staff training/orientation of new staff
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping; reschedule missed/insufficient collections
Identify expected outcomes; document/update nursing assessment/plan of care via Interdisciplinary Team collaboration
Ensure patient awareness of transplant/treatment modality options
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership, quality improvement activities
Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy/procedures, nursing standards, state/federal regulations; complete all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
