The role involves assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of patient care, performing hemodialysis treatments, administering medications, patient education, and collaboration with the healthcare team including delegation to staff.
The RN works as part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, under the direction of the Supervisor, with guidance from Clinical Educator or Preceptor, and collaborates with other RNs, LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians, Team Leader, Charge Nurse, and the Interdisciplinary Team.
This is an entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP), and the RN is required to complete CAP requirements to advance.
