The role involves providing and coordinating clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, performing hemodialysis treatments, administering medications, patient education, and serving as a resource and mentor to staff.
The RN works as part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, collaborating with direct patient care staff including RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians, under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator or Preceptor.
Strong candidates are those who meet RN CAP 2 criteria, can perform under supervision while advancing in the Clinical Advancement Program, demonstrate leadership as a preceptor and mentor, and participate in quality improvement and education projects.
