Candidates should possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent. A minimum of one year of recent clinical experience is required, preferably in an outpatient setting. Strong assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills are necessary, as well as the ability to administer medications and respond to emergencies.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse will be responsible for performing ongoing assessment and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis treatment, documenting findings, and making necessary adjustments to the treatment plan. They will also provide patient and family education, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, initiate or assist with emergency response measures, and ensure correct laboratory procedures are followed. Furthermore, this role involves serving as a resource for the healthcare team, participating in staff training, and fulfilling the requirements of the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP).
