Candidates must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license, and possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) is required, along with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of hemodialysis procedures and patient care is essential, as is the ability to assess patient needs and document findings accurately.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse will perform ongoing assessment and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis treatment, making adjustments to the treatment plan as needed and documenting all interventions. They will also provide patient and family education, administer medications, initiate emergency response measures, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care outcomes. Furthermore, they will serve as a resource for the healthcare team, participate in staff training, and ensure correct laboratory procedures are followed.
