Candidates must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license, and possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) is required, along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Strong assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills are necessary, as well as the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse will perform ongoing assessment and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis treatment, documenting findings and making necessary adjustments to the treatment plan. They will also administer medications, initiate emergency response measures, provide patient and family education, direct and collaborate on the delivery of hemodialysis therapy, ensure correct laboratory procedures, and serve as a resource for the healthcare team. Furthermore, the RN will participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations, while fulfilling CAP requirements.
