Candidates should possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. A minimum of one year of experience as an RN in an outpatient setting is required, and familiarity with hemodialysis procedures is preferred. Strong assessment, planning, and documentation skills are also necessary.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse is responsible for providing clinically competent care to patients undergoing hemodialysis, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. They will collect and analyze patient data, make treatment adjustments, educate patients and families, administer medications, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Additionally, they will participate in staff training, ensure proper laboratory procedures, and fulfill requirements for the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP).
