Requirements

Candidates must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent. A minimum of one year of experience as an RN in an outpatient setting is required, with prior experience in dialysis preferred. Strong assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

The Outpatient Registered Nurse will be responsible for performing ongoing assessments of patients, documenting patient data, and making adjustments to treatment plans as needed. They will also provide education to patients and families regarding hemodialysis therapy, administer medications, initiate emergency response measures, and serve as a resource for the healthcare team. Furthermore, the nurse will ensure correct laboratory procedures are followed, identify expected outcomes, and participate in quality improvement activities while fulfilling the requirements of the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP).
