Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with technical skills in RAC, Exadata internals and administration, Goldengate, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), RMAN backup and recovery, Data Guard setup and MAA, scripting, automation, performance tuning, and security configurations. A strong understanding of IT service standards like ITIL is required, along with an undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Experience interfacing with external customers, excellent communication, attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Oracle Database Consultant will be responsible for installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle databases, as well as performing Oracle administration tasks including RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, Golden Gate, and Exadata. This role involves designing and implementing backup/recovery strategies, setting up Oracle replication, coding scripts, and developing monitoring methods using Linux/Unix and Shell scripting. Responsibilities also include performance tuning, providing technical support, working with external customers, coordinating IT solutions, recommending best practices, administering backup and disaster recovery plans, presenting technical courses, and participating in on-call rotations to cover the PST timezone.
