In-depth knowledge of Jira administration, workflow configuration, JQL, and Atlassian products is required, along with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies. Familiarity with cloud concepts, application performance tuning, database management, and Jira's REST APIs is also necessary. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing requirements.
The JIRA Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom Jira workflows, screen schemes, and permission schemes to meet organizational needs. This includes creating custom fields, dashboards, reports, and filters, as well as developing and implementing automation solutions using plugins and scripts. The role involves integrating Jira with other tools and systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing system administration tasks such as upgrades and health checks. Responsibilities also include documenting system configurations and processes, developing custom dashboards and advanced filters using JQL, and configuring project schemes, custom fields, screens, permissions, and security settings. The engineer will also support and build integrations between Jira and other software development tools.
