Requirements

  • Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
  • Registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
  • MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – funded and supported by us)
  • On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
  • Able to use clinical skills and passion for the role to deliver a memorable customer experience
  • Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the department

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality patient care, putting customers first
  • Screen patients
  • Provide treatment and monitoring of minor eye conditions under NHS extended service contracts
  • Coach and train the wider team
  • Help maintain standards in the department
  • Work in partnership with an Optical Manager (qualified Dispensing Optician) to combine clinical and operational excellence
  • Support with coaching, training, and developing new patient services to meet customer needs
