5-8 years of experience in accounting or OPEX controlling
Strong French language skills (inferred from job title "OPEX Controller with French" and role handling French taxes, payroll, and local processes)
Strong technical skills in accounting, including understanding of French payroll components and calculations
Effective collaboration skills with stakeholders such as Payroll, HR, Finance, and department managers

Responsibilities

Build the OPEX budget for each department in collaboration with stakeholders, making adjustments to align with spending targets; establish periodic re-forecasts; communicate budgets to department directors
Participate in monthly closing with Payroll, HR, and Finance teams; establish payroll provisions; identify and explain variances from Plan/Forecast and prior year
Estimate France restructuring costs (OE "Operational Excellence" costs) and monitor actual expenditures
Ensure proper maintenance of payroll balance sheet accounts and payroll reconciliation
Provide budget owners with cost analysis, visibility on opportunities/risks; present to General Management; validate expense requests against budget
Streamline processes between Local Finance and Hub Finance; act as point of contact for France OPEX; optimize monitoring tools (e.g., OnePlan); advise on accounting allocations
Adhere to Haleon Group accounting policies; validate master data for payroll (cost centers, pay codes); maintain chart of accounts
Address auditor requests (statutory/group/tax); provide data for restructuring reports, statutory accounts, and French Work Council inquiries
Set objectives, supervise, and develop the tax & P2P team
Handle ad hoc activities: backfill team members, address department requests on OPEX, participate in projects for new OPEX/P2P tools or processes
