Requirements

  • Lead and manage diverse teams including supervisors, specialists, and engineers
  • Form close relationships with departments across the site and globally (e.g., R&D, Engineering, Quality)
  • Experience in manufacturing operations, production engineering, warehousing, inventory management, and facilities management
  • Ability to assess headcount needs, vet skill sets for new hires, and maintain capacity plans
  • Knowledge of 5S, QMS (Quality Management System), root cause analysis, and process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the production team across multiple shifts to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
  • Plan production activities, monitor labour hours, team composition, authorize overtime, schedule Work Orders to maximize utilization and optimize build rates
  • Maintain established 5S and lead new 5S improvements across team work areas
  • Instil a culture of quality, safety, and accountability, ensuring products are manufactured per the site’s QMS
  • Lead and manage the Production Engineering team to identify root causes for quality and non-conformance issues and implement improvements; support issue escalation
  • Ensure manufacturing feedback on manufacturability, yield, quality control is incorporated into design reviews and engineering changes
  • Support Product Review work instructions and recommend process improvements
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering and process partners to improve product quality and reduce build times
  • Work with manufacturing automation team to develop machine maintenance schedules and ensure critical spares availability
  • Lead and manage the warehouse team to efficiently receive, handle, store, pick, stock, and ship raw materials and finished goods
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Quality teams to plan material availability
  • Coordinate shipping and logistics with freight forwarders for correct documentation and handling
  • Oversee functioning, maintenance, and repair of critical building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical); manage contracts and contractors
  • Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications as directed by senior leadership
  • Assess headcount needs, vet skill sets for new hires, maintain capacity plans, and justify needs for new equipment and personnel
