Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or any related field or equivalent experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in English, with the ability to maintain effective conversations
  • Availability to rotate shifts (4x3)
  • Knowledge of machining and assembly processes
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage personnel and resources effectively
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Familiarity with bottlenecks, line restrictions, and identification of cycle times
  • Experience in tracking and administering production activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience applying structured problem-solving processes
  • Hands-on experience implementing solutions in production environments
  • Full-time on-site work (100% on-site, 4x3 shift schedule)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective use of personnel, material, and equipment
  • Participate in training, developing, and evaluating hourly team members
  • Participate in the development of highly effective teams
  • Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serve as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas
  • Meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintain quality requirements
  • Maintain awareness of quality standards, communicate department quality goals, and leverage resources to solve quality issues
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union, and management
  • Understand and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union
  • Implement and follow systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues
  • Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health, safety, and housekeeping
  • Motivate, train, and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
  • Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training)
  • Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements
  • Coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities
