Candidates are required to possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, community planning, facility management, or a related field, and must have over ten years of experience as an analyst or program manager at the Service Component Headquarters or DoD level. A Secret Clearance is also required, along with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software and prior experience working with military-based programs.
The Operational Planner will conduct detailed reviews and assessments of MCICOM’s strategic capabilities and their alignment with Marine Corps operational requirements and priorities, developing and implementing organizational strategies for Marine Corps installations, including Installation Next (I-Next) and Force Design (FD) planning. This role involves supporting the development of an organizational strategy, mission, vision, values, and critical objectives to optimize infrastructure, services, and risk mitigation efforts to support FMF readiness, conducting policy reviews and proposing updates to installation planning directives, supporting fiscal and budgetary execution for Future Year Defense Program (FYDP) resource requirements, and developing strategic plans such as the Installation Plan (IPLAN) and Installation and Logistics Campaign Plan. The Operational Planner will also provide conference planning and meeting support for inter-agency conferences, symposia, and workshops.
