Requirements
Associate's degree in electronics, electrical technology, mechanical technology, physical science, or US Navy nuclear experience with a rating of E-6 or above and greater than six years' total experience, OR high school diploma/GED and greater than 10 years' total experience
Eight years' experience as a Senior trade directly related to the specific discipline supervised (e.g., Mechanic, Electrician, Welder, I&C Technician) or a relevant combination of experience, education, and/or training
Strong interpersonal skills
Effective writing and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated leadership ability
Broad knowledge of nuclear standards and nuclear policies, practices, and procedures
Ability to perform walk downs in plant environment (exposure to heat, cold, noise, and radiation)
Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant
Responsibilities
Supervise and direct the activities of assigned personnel (mechanics, welders, electricians, instrument technicians, and other exempt and non-exempt personnel) to ensure safety, ALARA, quality, and productivity in compliance with company safety policies and rules
Prepare and maintain all applicable reports, records, and documentation required by Technical Specifications, Plant Manager's Instructions and Procedures, and the Plant Quality Assurance program
Evaluate, recommend, and initiate modifications to present and proposed plant components, systems, and structures to ensure cost-effective and reliable configurations
Ensure plant material conditions and housekeeping are maintained in accordance with established plant and department policies
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, planned and forced outage work activities, surveillance, and required post-maintenance testing in accordance with the Plant Integrated Schedule (Plan of the Week, Plan of the Day, etc.)
Manage the maintenance and use/care of all tools, test equipment, materials, and shop facilities under direct supervision
Manage implementation of and adherence to radiological control work practices and contamination control program requirements, including identification/correction of improper practices and using tracking/trending data for corrective action
Utilize the maintenance action request system and integrated schedule to ensure work is identified, classified, planned, coordinated, and scheduled efficiently
Ensure contract and other non-plant personnel are properly supervised and follow plant-approved policies, procedures, controls, and workmanship standards
Responsible for the training and qualification of workers and the development of all individuals assigned to the position
