Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a technical field such as nuclear engineering, with experience in reactor design and analysis. Proficiency with Monte Carlo neutronics tools like MCNP and Serpent is highly recommended, as is fluency with Python and experience with modern object-oriented languages, preferably C++. Familiarity with deterministic fast reactor tools and high-performance computing systems is also desired. Hands-on experience in a reactor setting is considered a bonus.

Responsibilities

The Neutronics Engineer will perform reactor design calculations, including core design and fuel cycle analyses, and design irradiation targets for radioisotope production. This involves using Monte Carlo and deterministic codes for core sizing, optimization, reactivity feedback, lifetime, and criticality analyses. Responsibilities also include providing technical feedback to design teams, documenting work thoroughly, and writing well-written technical reports. The role requires staying aware of international research reactor design and analysis work and benchmark calculations.
