Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent degree
  • 5+ years experience in automotive testing
  • 2+ years experience creating simulations for autonomous driving software
  • Coding and/or scripting experience in high level languages (Java / Python)
  • Strong understanding of autonomous driving technology
  • Demonstrated experience with autonomous vehicle simulation platforms
  • Ability to prioritize and plan complex deliverables
  • Willingness to adapt role and responsibilities to respond to changing simulation needs
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical teams
  • Familiarity with product and software life cycles
  • Comfortable continuously learning new software and workflows

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers in developing simulation tests to validate the May autonomous driving software's performance and safety
  • Collaborate with systems, safety, testing, and autonomy engineering teams to ensure simulation coverage of common and rare driving scenarios and ODD elements
  • Drive traceability between simulations and scenario and ODD database
  • Analyze simulation results to identify performance trends, uncover potential issues, and provide insights for improvements
  • Coordinate with Testing and Validation team to ensure simulation results are consistent with real-world testing
  • Develop methods for evaluating simulation performance against safety performance indicators
  • Identify and drive improvements to simulation technology and infrastructure
  • Establish and oversee processes for high-quality simulation development
