Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) or equivalent experience, with 7+ years in a related field. A strong understanding of network and traffic peering, fiber-optic technology, and network protocols like OSPF/ISIS and BGP is required. Knowledge of DWDM systems from vendors such as Cienna, Infinera, and Cisco NCS, along with Layer 1-3 troubleshooting skills, is essential. Experience in a multi-vendor network environment and network certifications like CCNP/JNCIP are preferred.
The Network Operations Engineer III will participate in production network and internet peering strategies, manage network operations with multiple vendor servers and hardware/software issues, and work with TAC vendors to resolve hardware problems. Responsibilities include handling traffic and queries from ISPs/partners, driving first-level escalations, preparing and circulating Technical and Process MOPs, and supporting the team with Layer 1 to Layer 3 network and traffic peering issues. The role involves driving data insights and reporting, participating in meetings with weekly presentations on network performance, collaborating with ISPs/vendors on network fixes, working with regional teams, and providing 24/7 support, including potential weekend work.
