Requirements

High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
1–2 years related work experience
A minimum of two years of experience supporting and monitoring network systems, servers, or storage in an enterprise environment
Previous NOC experience strongly preferred
Understanding of key network monitoring protocols including SNMP, NetFlow, WMI, syslog, etc
Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and Cisco network devices

Responsibilities

Perform technical analysis of system issues and outages across enterprise networks
Research to troubleshoot and resolve issues or escalate to higher-level administrators/engineers based on complexity
Research and document various mitigation strategies
Maintain current and thorough knowledge of technologies and their significance to operations
Prioritize remediation of issues with critical uptime requirements
Perform basic system administration tasks such as network/system troubleshooting, patching operating systems and applications, and executing scripts
Provide timely response to all incidents, outages, and performance alerts; categorize issues for escalation (15%)
Recognize, identify, and prioritize incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, organizational policies, and operational impact (70%)
Monitor a wide variety of information and network systems including telecommunications circuits, LAN/WAN systems, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, servers, storage, backup, operating systems, and core applications (70%)
Collect and review performance reports for various systems; report trends in hardware and application performance to assist senior technical personnel (15%)
Work with internal and external technical and service teams to create and/or update knowledge base articles (15%)
