Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, and a minimum of 12 years’ related experience. They should have hands-on experience with network devices such as routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls, along with a strong understanding of infrastructure protocols including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, VRRP, DHCP, TCP, UDP, and IP addressing (IPv6), as well as application protocols like DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, OpenStack, and Micro-segmentation. Proficiency in Python, Ansible, and Shell scripting is required, alongside exceptional documentation skills and strong interpersonal and communications abilities.
The Network Engineer will serve as a liaison between network architecture and operations, taking high-level network architectural artifacts and creating production-ready solutions for deployment and maintenance. They will be responsible for network testing and quality assurance, including lab testing, documenting new vendor code, and identifying feature gaps, bugs, and compliance issues. Furthermore, the role involves network troubleshooting and fault isolation, reproducing abnormalities in a lab environment for root cause analysis and remediation, researching and integrating industry best practices in network orchestration and configuration management, identifying pain points for upstream organizations, and helping design and implement auto remediation functions to monitor and recover from network events.
