Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or typically minimum 2 years relevant experience
2-4 years of enterprise networking experience and/or a Bachelor's Degree
Appropriate advanced industry network certifications preferred
Skills in dynamic routing (e.g., configure BGP and OSPF)
Skills in WAN optimization and QoS on global MPLS network carrying voice and data
Skills in global DNS load balancing and local application load balancing
Ability to work on assignments that are routine to moderately difficult, requiring some decision in resolving issues or making recommendations
Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments
Ability to work within the demands of a global 24x7 high availability transaction-oriented network
Ability to translate business requirements into network requirements and collaboratively work with other technical teams

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, support, and secure the organization's network communications, including LANs and/or WANs
Identify network problems, isolate root causes, and initiate corrective action
Determine priority of action and additional resources required, based on severity of service interruption
Provide technical analysis to all customers to isolate issues and develop strategies to restore or activate services
Interact with Telecommunication Engineers, LAN Administrators, and transmission and RF staff regarding ongoing network activities
Ascertain compliance with security, safety, and environmental guidelines
Generate reports on network performance, trouble-shooting results, and routine maintenance of network elements
Assist with intermediate level Network problem solving solutions within the Global Payments Network
Administer established Network project and issue resolution tasks
Participate in the execution of intermediate design plans/scripts with attention to detail
Provide timely updates to project managers and customers on the status of implementations and requests as needed
Generate intermediate level reports on network performance, trouble-shooting results, and routine maintenance of network elements
