Requirements

  • Ability to inspect equipment and components visually for physical damage, missing parts, leaks, etc
  • Skill in disassembling equipment and components, marking and removing parts, noting damage or wear, and disposing of old winding from core
  • Capability to identify, document, and convert winding data as required
  • Proficiency in repairing or modifying existing core to meet standards
  • Competence in correctly sizing and winding coils
  • Expertise in proper wire insertion, wedging, and tying of winding or wire
  • Experience using tools such as torch, grinders, hydraulic and mechanical pullers for disassembly and repair
  • Ability to perform operations like drilling, tapping, deburring, and surface conditioning using manual machinery and tools
  • Skill in performing and documenting final electrical and mechanical test results of the winding, insulation, and connections
  • Knowledge of dipping and baking winding, including using overhead cranes to dip motors into varnish tank and move into oven
  • Ability to clean up fits, threads, and identification plates of varnish
  • Capacity to perform final testing and documentation
  • Willingness to meet with leadership to determine daily and weekly work priorities and adjust work activities
  • Commitment to attending to, cleaning, and observing equipment and machinery for efficient and safe operation
  • Dedication to ensuring all products meet production, quality, and technical specifications
  • Ability to pull jobs to quote from staging area, obtain approved units from WAPP area, and transfer to workstation
  • Maintenance of a clean, safe, and orderly work area
  • Participation in ongoing training and company programs to develop leadership and job skills

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble equipment and components by marking and removing parts of the motor, noting any damage or signs of wear, and remove and dispose of old winding from core
  • Identify and document winding data and convert data as required
  • Repair or modify existing core to meet standards
  • Correctly size and wind coils
  • Perform proper wire insertion, wedging, and tying of winding or wire
  • Use tools such as torch, grinders, hydraulic and mechanical pullers to perform disassembly and repair work
