Requirements

  • Time-served engineer with an apprenticeship or relevant NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Basic understanding of health & safety, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
  • Flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills and a great teammate attitude
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., cleanroom restrictions, cold rooms, fluctuating temperatures, loud noises, strong odors, hazardous materials, heights, standing for full shift, PPE requirements)

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs on Facilities and Manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose faults and implement timely and effective solutions
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery or equipment upgrades
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and strictly in compliance with health & safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out using the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to identify areas of improvement
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing practices
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns, minimising production downtime
  • Assist with spare parts management and stock control
