Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Science or Engineering, ideally in Pharmaceutical or Chemical Engineering (desired but not essential)
  • Essential understanding of end-to-end aseptic processes (liquids, powders, lyophilization)
  • Desirable experience with new facility/process start-ups
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and sound decision-making skills
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and technical writing
  • Willingness to travel and work outside the UK for equipment validation
  • Acquire and maintain a Bronze license Badge for Production areas

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Production team in setting up equipment and processes
  • Generate and approve process documentation
  • Transfer and leverage existing process knowledge into the SWC systems
  • Implement and deliver effective, safe, and compliant manufacturing operations
  • Maintain processes in accordance with GMP and regulatory requirements
  • Engage in equipment and process validation during commercial manufacturing
  • Champion and establish robust, lean, compliant processes
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers, acting as a key contact for client personnel
  • Implement staff training and development programs
  • Troubleshoot and improve manufacturing, filling, inspection, and packaging processes
  • Monitor and communicate progress to essential collaborators
  • Understand and align with emergency procedures and safe systems of work
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety rules and signage
  • Promptly report and investigate all accidents, near misses, and rule breaches
