Requirements

Candidates must possess a current, active, and unencumbered independent license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Arizona and/or New Mexico. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university is required. Preferred qualifications include exceptional interpersonal and team skills, a deep understanding of the psychosocial aspects of illness and health, knowledge of insurance and government billing requirements, and strong crisis intervention skills. Previous experience in a mental health clinic or hospital setting is also preferred. The candidate must be willing to obtain additional state licensure.

Responsibilities

The Mental Health Therapist will provide psychosocial support and education to individuals, couples, and families aged 13 and older. They will utilize evidence-based methodologies such as motivational interviewing, problem-solving therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy for diagnosis, care collaboration, treatment planning, and short-term counseling. The therapist will practice autonomously, focusing on patient care without the burden of payor contracting, credentialing, and billing. They will also leverage assessment and treatment planning tools to support continuity of care for patients.
