Responsibilities

  • Develop skills and knowledge across Internal Research, Design and Analysis through to Integration, Tooling and Testing
  • Work on Mechanical Design placements, involved in all stages of design from concept development through to manufacture, using CAD tools and laboratory test programs
  • Work on Mechanical Future Concepts placements, involved in ground-breaking missile technology through early stages of product lifecycle including concept development and R&D studies
  • Work on Mechanical Analysis placements, supporting the design process through FEA tools and laboratory testing for stress and thermal analysis
  • Work on Actuation Systems placements in a multidisciplinary team on electro-mechanical design of fin, wing and seeker actuation systems
  • Work on Materials and Processes Group placements, informing design teams' choice of materials and processes, involved in research of novel materials and practical lab-based assessments
  • Contribute to meaningful work relevant to projects from the outset, with hands-on work experience and interaction with hardware
