Requirements

  • Level 2: 1 - 4 years mechanical design experience
  • Level 3: Minimum 4 years mechanical design experience
  • Proven experience developing comprehensive design packages
  • Experience working with SolidWorks CAD or other 3D CAD software
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
  • Experience designing automated machinery preferred
  • Experience with robotic simulation software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for robotic EOAT, fixtures, and automation components using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), ensuring precision and optimal performance
  • Evaluate designs through stress simulations, motion studies, and safety assessments (e.g., FMEA) to ensure reliability in real-world applications
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and controls frameworks, delivering seamless, high-performance solutions
  • Spearhead prototype testing and iterative refinements, transforming concepts into durable, deployable designs
  • Create clear technical documentation, including specifications, engineering changes ensuring traceability and project alignment
  • Assist on-site operations, troubleshoot issues, and provide hands-on technical support to internal teams
  • Complete tasks on schedule and within budget, proposing innovative enhancements to improve efficiency and functionality
  • Level 3 Additional: Manage and lead small-scale projects independently and work with project teams
  • Level 3 Additional: Review CAD data levels and revisions that are presented in customer parts
  • Level 3 Additional: Ability to train and teach less experienced Mechanical Design Engineers and Co-Ops / Interns
  • Level 3 Additional: Lead mechanical design presentations and reviews with internal team, customers and suppliers
