Requirements

  • Two-year degree or certificate from an accredited two-year college, university, or technical school preferred
  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, the principles of Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement, Lean 5S and Kanban preferred
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics of mechanical and electrical components
  • Understanding of how electric motors work
  • Good team communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Tools – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Previous experience building electric motors
  • Previous Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience – Specifically 3DX/Catia

  • Experience taking a new product from engineering release to full-rate production

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on assembly of electric powertrain components
  • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the manufacturing processes as the key process owner
  • Performing in-process quality control inspection tasks, identifying and raising concerns about process deviations, and participating in troubleshooting efforts
  • Maintaining accurate and clear manufacturing documentation in compliance with internal and external quality systems or regulations, including assembly process documentation and process data (e.g., fastener torque, electrical checks)
  • Performing regular inspection and cleaning of manufacturing equipment along with routine maintenance
  • Maintaining maintenance logs for all machines or processes overseen, using word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Providing regular productivity reports and incident reports as needed
  • Using all mandated safety equipment and complying with all safety requirements in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned
  • Refining manufacturing processes, designing jigs and fixtures, introducing new tools and equipment ideas, and continuously improving quality and throughput
  • Working closely with peers to integrate design changes from product development into build processes
