  • Higher Grade in English, Math’s, and at least one Science subject (relevant work experience considered in lieu)
  • NPA Applied Science or similar science-based college qualification
  • IOSH Managing Safely, Lean Six Sigma (Yellow Belt) or above
  • Knowledge of cGMP and safety (OSHA) regulations
  • Experience working to a Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Experience in a similar industry, preferably in high throughput manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution operation
  • Proven management experience of a team of around 10 people
  • Ability to embrace a high-paced working environment and show passion for the industry
  • Driven to continuously improve and fully engage the team in improvement initiatives
  • Flexible to work a rotating shift pattern
  • Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety standards, and cleanroom protocols (no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair)
  • Comfortable working with PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs), loud noises, strong odors, and hazardous/toxic materials

Responsibilities

  • Oversee activities of a department on shift to ensure production employees are safe, produce to quality standards, meet schedules, and achieve equipment efficiency
  • Effectively communicate information on facility equipment condition and personnel performance to supervisors, managers, and colleagues
  • Provide suggestions for problem prevention and resolution to optimize cost-benefit ratio
  • Liaise extensively with supervisors, managers, and other departments (e.g., Planning, Quality, EHS, Operational Excellence, Manufacturing Sciences) on safety, quality, and service matters
  • Interact with all Cell Culture employees and people at all organizational levels, including customers during site visits
  • Maintain a safe working environment with hazardous materials
  • Perform manufacturing floor-based duties predominantly, with some desk-related tasks, in environments with varying gowning requirements for graded and non-graded areas
