Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering field from an ABET accredited program, preferably manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering
  • Advanced degrees, relevant licenses or certifications are a plus
  • Skilled in designing, validating, and implementing warehouse automation systems and equipment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing execution and warehouse management systems
  • Proven ability in inventory management, process optimization, and workflow analysis
  • Proficient with lean manufacturing tools, such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, and other methods to facilitate continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the entire lifecycle of cross-functional projects, from planning and design to implementation and delivery
  • Strong ability to collaborate with global cross-functional teams, external vendors, and stakeholders, as well as communicate project status and technical details effectively to senior leadership
  • Proficient in planning and optimizing workflow, equipment placement, space utilization, material flow, and site layout to enhance warehouse efficiency
  • Track record of identifying and eliminating waste through innovative systems and technology
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve delays and inefficiencies through application of demonstrated troubleshooting skills and the application of engineering principles

Responsibilities

  • Emphasize and encourage safe work practices, ensuring all processes comply with safety standards
  • Develop and implement building layout and system designs, such as racking, shelving, work cells, and machines, using lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve flow
  • Create, implement and maintain quality standards, operating procedures, and workflow systems to monitor and enhance product quality and productivity
  • Lead and manage improvement projects, establishing milestones and deadlines, while balancing trade-offs between time and resources to align with strategic vision
  • Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and other data tools to identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements
  • Identify and qualify new equipment and technologies, assessing installation, performance, and lifespan to ensure they meet project requirements
  • Validate process, tool, and equipment designs to requirements aligned with internal and external customers, driving consensus with global teams
  • Analyze warehouse processes, schedules, methods, and other data to enable strategic planning and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all government laws and regulations
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other operational costs along with reviewing schedules and future requirements to support decision making
  • Eliminate waste in warehouse operations and apply innovative systems to improve workflows
