Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field; equivalent technical training or experience may be considered
  • Prior experience as a manufacturing technician or similar role in a complex electromechanical manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with autonomous systems, robotics, or maritime technologies is a plus
  • Strong understanding of shop-floor practices, process documentation, and quality control
  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, technical documentation, and follow standard operating procedures
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes for ASV production
  • Support engineers in implementing lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency
  • Provide feedback on tooling, fixtures, and equipment performance to aid process improvements
  • Work with design and engineering teams to translate specifications into practical manufacturing steps
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for parts, materials, and consumables needed in production
  • Investigate, document, and escalate production issues; assist engineers in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Suggest and help implement improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality
  • Perform time-studies
  • Stay engaged with best practices in manufacturing techniques and equipment operation
  • Maintain accurate records of production processes, test results, and quality checks
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable industry standards
  • Provide hands-on training to production staff on proper use of equipment and processes
  • Serve as a first line of troubleshooting during production issues and escalate when needed
