Requirements

  • BS Engineering or Engineering Technology (prefer Mechanical Engineering background)
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Proficient computer skills, including AutoCad, Creo & MS applications (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement principles throughout the machine shop
  • Provide day to day manufacturing process support of production teams (methods, tooling, equipment, problem-solving)
  • Provide resources required by the shop floor to meet objectives in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (drawings, time studies, development of production rates, method & tool sheet maintenance, routing maintenance, REA & ECN processing, capacity planning, work center maintenance, new product quoting, standard work development, and P-order (prototype) tracking)
  • Ensure process capability by providing necessary resources to the shop floor including equipment, tooling, fixturing, methods, and processes
  • Work closely with manufacturing supervisors as well as other support groups and technical leaders to resolve issues that arise as related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Develops machining processes to meet goals
  • Responsible for implementing cell design and SMED Kaizens in the machining areas to transform value streams to future state
  • Responsible for supporting new product introductions by ensuring machined component process capability and production readiness
  • Facilitates kaizen events for continuous improvement through the elimination of wastes
