Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering background and knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining
  • Ability to review and analyze manufacturability and costs associated with CNC machining
  • Proficiency in determining design changes to builders’ design specifications
  • Expertise in defining best suited manufacturing process, machine selection, cycle time calculations, and setup costs
  • Ability to generate should-cost using in-house calculators and Fictiv's software recommendations
  • Skills in scrutinizing manufacturing partners' quotes for optimized raw material, machining, and secondary processes costs
  • Negotiation skills with manufacturing partners to achieve optimal costs
  • Understanding of secondary processes (e.g., Anodising, Zinc plating, Chemical conversion coatings) including types, classes, service classes, and methods
  • Capability to prepare RFQ packages referring to capability and capacity plans
  • Expertise in machining and process cost drivers to develop cost calculators
  • Ability to study 3D models and 2D prints for manufacturability assessment and design change recommendations (DFx feedback)
  • Experience providing feedback to improve automated quoting software accuracy
  • Ability to develop packaging concepts for shipping cost generation
  • Skills in following up with Sales and Manufacturing partners on RFQ feedback and status

Responsibilities

  • Package review: Study packages from Sales to determine scope of work, manufacturing feasibility, and lead time details
  • Define best suited manufacturing process, machine selection, cycle time calculations, and setup costs
  • Generate should-cost using in-house calculators and Fictiv's software recommendations
  • Scrutinize Manufacturing Partners' quotes for accuracy in raw material, machining, and secondary processes costs
  • Negotiate with Manufacturing Partners on quotes to ensure optimal costs and win-win situations
  • Prepare RFQ packages to Manufacturing Partners based on capability and capacity plans
  • Develop cost calculators using machining expertise and understanding of process cost drivers
  • Provide DFx feedback by studying 3D models and 2D prints to assess manufacturability and recommend design changes
  • Provide automation feedback to the Quoting Software team to improve accuracy
  • Develop packaging concepts and provide to Logistics team for shipping cost generation
  • Follow up weekly with Sales on quoted RFQs feedback and update Manufacturing Partners on RFQ status
  • Work with Cross-Functional Teams (CFT) to evaluate value deals for project management validation, de-risking, and quality documentation
  • Handle assembly processes
