Requirements

  • 10+ years in relevant technologies

  • Data analytics skills and experience, attention to detail, flexible thinking (ability to pivot and try new approaches), organizational, planning, and documentation skills
  • Ability to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously
  • Strong hands-on experience in Software Development and data modeling and ETL tools
  • Strong telecom domain knowledge especially on OSS and network service assurance
  • Strong knowledge on database technologies like Oracle, Postgres and Snowflake
  • Programming experience using Java, Python or SQL, PL/SQL
  • Experience in Unix/Linux and shell scripting
  • Experience with working with message/event buses
  • Experience in leading large scale application transformation and modernization
  • Experience in managing cross functional teams like developers, DBA, application support
  • Experience in all phases of Software Development Lifecycle including Requirements, Design and Architecture, Development, testing and Quality Assurance, Deployment and Release Management and Maintenance and Support
  • Working experience in public cloud, preferably Azure
  • Knowledge of Apache Iceberg and InfluxDB is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on engineering leadership for new Network Surveillance Management technology supporting AT&T’s networks and services (e.g., network virtualization and 5G)
  • Evaluate and introduce strategic technology to enable Service Assurance architectural goals and transformation goals
  • Lead software development, data modeling, testing, deployment, and support of Network Service Assurance applications
  • Collaborate with system engineers, participate in scrum, develop and test code to meet requirements, troubleshoot issues, monitor performance, and optimize processes for continuous improvement and fixing security vulnerabilities
  • People management for up to 20 team members
  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentoring, coaching, and developing individual team members; setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback; fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture; resolving conflicts and removing obstacles
  • Project Management & Delivery: Planning, organizing, and executing software development projects; ensuring projects stay on time and within budget; managing project scope, timelines, and resources; tracking project progress and communicating updates to stakeholders
  • Technical Oversight & Quality: Providing technical, functional guidance and support to the team; ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices; reviewing code and providing feedback to improve quality; identifying and mitigating technical risks
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders; communicating project status, technical issues, and team performance to senior management
  • Recruiting & Onboarding: Participating in the hiring process to build a high-performing team; onboarding new team members and ensuring they are equipped for success
  • Continuous Improvement: Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies; identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation
