Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement automated DR framework to improve failover and recovery speed
  • Integrate automation into DR runbooks, testing, and execution to minimize manual intervention
  • Optimize RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) through automation
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams (Database, Storage, Platforms Engineering, Network) to enhance DR capabilities
  • Ensure DR plans meet standards and compliance requirements
  • Own and maintain DR automation backlog using agile methodology
  • Breakdown, estimate, and schedule work items for automation initiatives
  • Review requirements and approve design artifacts with engineering team
  • Strategize and utilize organizational infrastructure tools to automate DR processes
  • Lead and implement DR automation solutions across on-premise, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments
  • Enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities for DR automation using accredited tools
  • Conduct disaster recovery tests, failover drills, and resilience simulations using automation
  • Monitor and analyze test results to identify improvements in automation and response time
  • Collaborate with IT, security, and other departments for alignment on DR, authentication, and security strategies
  • Lead disaster recovery efforts during disruptions, coordinating response and recovery
  • Create and maintain documentation (knowledge articles, standard operating procedures) for automation
  • Lead a team of engineers and specialists focused on DR automation
  • Serve as subject matter expert in DR automation, providing guidance and training
  • Develop and present strategies and approaches to management and stakeholders
  • Deliver information and key metrics professionally using Excel data, pivots, charts, and graphics
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders, executives, and external parties to relay automation metrics
  • Maintain an effective technical network
