Responsibilities

  • Negotiate net cost and Earned Income programs for assigned categories/suppliers
  • Negotiate, prepare, and present supplier award recommendations to senior sourcing leadership
  • Communicate results of negotiation activities and conduct ongoing sourcing activities post-award
  • Manage and validate steady-state change requests
  • Develop industry overviews, supplier profiles, and cost component worksheets for clean-sheet cost buildup
  • Ensure completion of legal documentation (e.g., Hold Harmless, Certificate of Insurance, Supplier Authorization Agreement, Bid Award Purchase Agreement, Terms Change Form)
  • Identify new suppliers and initiate engagement processes
  • Engage and coach suppliers throughout the category management process
  • Perform strategic sourcing functions including negotiating, onboarding new suppliers, conflict resolution, and problem-solving
  • Negotiate ongoing cost-based activities such as cost changes, program alterations, Earned Income expirations, and category renewals/extensions
  • Manage supplier-initiated price changes through cost analyses and generate approval forms with supporting data
  • Implement cost changes cross-functionally with Costing Team and suppliers, review variance reports, and resolve exceptions
  • Provide market insight to Category Director/Manager and Transfer Price Team for transfer pricing
  • Ensure proper notice of cost adjustments to suppliers and Operating Companies
  • Negotiate new programs with suppliers using market data and re-negotiate expiring agreements
  • Negotiate program agreements for DOT purchases and centralize/standardize local programs into corporate programs
  • Generate and negotiate agreement forms, obtain leadership approval, and ensure rates match supplier systems
  • Load agreements for corporate managed suppliers into the Ariba database
  • Contact suppliers regarding delinquent monthly earned income payments
