Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in (Industrial) Engineering or similarly related discipline. Masters preferred
  • Preferably 7-10 years in similar environment (process knowledge) with a pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device company. 5 years in a leadership role
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch
  • Technical background in engineering, maintenance & business excellence
  • Continuous improvement methodologies such as lean, six sigma and process excellence tools/methodologies
  • Familiar with software related to OT data collection, analytics and default software packages related to MES, Maintenance and ERP
  • Ability to build a strong and productive relationships with all different departments

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Operation Engineering department, enabling effective utilization of labor, materials and equipment ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and company policies, in a cost-effective environment
  • Provides guidance and coaching to teams to deliver business objectives
  • Manages, motivates, and develops subordinates to reach their full potential
  • Takes a leadership role in developing and implementing continuous process improvements, cost optimization, and efficiency initiatives using Process Excellence tools and techniques
  • Manages resources to ensure reliable, efficient, and productive operations
  • Responsible for emergency, corrective and preventive maintenance of equipment & tooling
  • Responsible for spare part management and optimization
  • Responsible for uptime, yield and maintenance of machines, tooling and processes
  • Reports metrics on a scheduled basis in a timely manner to management related to process and equipment performance
  • Participates in the selection, acquisition, and installation of equipment, ensuring compliance with Quality standards within the process flow
  • Supports introduction of new products (NPI) and equipment
  • Ensures short- and long-term goals are met
  • Communicates business issues or opportunities to the next management level
  • Responsible for approving purchase orders up to a predefined maximum
  • Approves all production and equipment-related documentation, including SOPs, quality instructions, drawings, CAPAs, audit records, and non-conformance reports
  • Signs off on project documentation
  • Enforces and promotes all safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental regulations set by the company
  • Ensures all related health, safety, and environmental practices are followed, resources are available and in good condition
  • Supports safety initiatives, such as emergency response, ergonomics, and safe behavior programs
  • Ensures compliance with company safety policies and reports accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly
  • Participates in corrective action processes and ensures safety programs are maintained to meet corporate goals
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
