Strategic Sourcing Manager - India

Position Overview

Twilio is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team in India. This senior leadership position will be instrumental in driving the Shared Services Procurement and Source strategy and planning. Reporting to the Procurement Operations Leader in North America, you will manage and develop the Procurement Ops Help Desk & Sourcing Buy Desk teams in India. You will collaborate closely with the North America-based Strategic Sourcing & Procurement organization and interact extensively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership within Twilio.

Responsibilities

As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will:

  • Lead the Tech Sourcing and Procurement categories.
  • Be based out of the Bangalore office.
  • Handle global Procurement Operations duties as assigned.
  • Manage supplier tail spend for all categories, including technology, marketing, and workplace services.
  • Live the Twilio Magic values:
    • NO SHENANIGANS: Quickly identify key vendor contracts and procurement activities to be moved to India, ensuring flawless execution.
    • BE INCLUSIVE: Collaborate with cross-functional finance, legal, security, privacy, and AP teams on deals and operations-related activities.
    • BE AN OWNER: Engage with Sourcing Managers and the Procurement Team in North America to identify and resolve issues or roadblocks.
    • WRITE IT DOWN: Jointly develop the strategic Sourcing and Procurement maturity plan, aligning with the overall department and company vision.
    • Ensure alignment across the sourcing and procurement team, leadership, and functions on strategy, plans, risks, and decisions, cascading communications and managing stakeholder expectations.
    • DRAW THE OWL: In partnership with the North America sourcing and procurement function, build the Proc Ops Helpdesk and Sourcing Buy Desk, including:
      • Identifying and developing process improvements, best practices, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Procurement and Sourcing team.
    • DON’T SETTLE: Optimize the vendor base, reduce the cost footprint, and streamline critical processes during peak seasons, delivering value to Twilio.

Required:

  • 8+ years of relevant Strategic Sourcing and Procurement experience in a Shared Service environment, preferably within a leading technology company.
  • Strong Strategic Sourcing Category Management experience across multiple categories, including:
    • SaaS Software
    • Hardware
    • Workplace Services
    • Marketing
    • Contingent Workforce
  • Experience in:
    • Supplier Performance Management (QBRs, Risk, ESG Management)
    • Procurement Operations (developing policy, Reporting, Compliance and Auditing, Vendor onboarding, and master vendor data management)
  • Experience managing tail spend teams.
