Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
  • Eight years of airline operations experience, at least 3 of which were in a leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to work across division lines for the greater organizational need
  • Demonstrated ability to work with labor unions

Responsibilities

  • Partner with key stakeholders on the management and improvement of the Flight Operations, Inflight Operations, Airport Operations, and Technical Operations safety performance
  • Oversee and manage the proper functioning of the Flight Operations Quality Assurance Program (FOQA)
  • Lead cross-divisional and high-severity safety investigations
  • Manage the Company Fatigue Risk Management Program (FRMP) and Review Board
  • Manage the Breeze Airways Occupational Safety program, to include: Serving as company point of contact with local and national OSHA regulatory agencies; Overseeing local station safety committees across the Breeze network; Manage, calculate, and monitor employee injury metrics
  • Oversee the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Aircraft Drinking Water Program
  • Partner with all Operating Division leaders to ensure robust analysis of safety performance risk and ensure effective visibility to mitigation efforts
  • Lead and facilitate cross-divisional safety risk assessment (SRA) reviews
  • Serve as Party Coordinator during all National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) accident or incident investigations
  • Active member of the Breeze Airways Flight Operations Standards Board (FOSB), Technical Operations Continuous Analysis Surveillance (CASS) Board, Airport Operations Safety Meeting, and Inflight Operations Safety Meetings
  • Work with management to develop risk-based tools and techniques to strengthen operational programs, processes and controls
  • Partner with the Manager SMS & ASAP on the promotion and sustainability of the Operations Divisions Aviation Safety Action Program’s (ASAP)
  • Attend other industry and air carrier meetings as applicable concerning Flight Safety issues
  • Maintain contact with other air carriers and trade organizations to maintain an interchange of industry safety concerns
  • Regularly fly the line to maintain awareness of line related issues
  • Manages SMS promotion responsibilities for all operational divisions to include Safety Bulletins, Safety Newsletters, and front-line awareness of abnormal occurrences, events, and trends
  • Support the VP Flight Operations, VP Airport Operations, VP Technical Operations, and Director Inflight with regular briefings on safety performance
  • Maintain the readiness of the Breeze Airways NTSB Accident Investigation Team
  • Maintain proficiency in Accident and Incident Investigative Techniques, Photographic documentation and technical skills, Human Factors continuing education, safety research, and Investigation Analysis
  • Perform all other duties/projects as assigned
