Requirements

  • Current State of CT type E1 or E2, S1 or S2 license
  • Minimum of 10 years worked under a licensed electrical or mechanical contractor in the State of CT
  • 10 years of experience with all aspects of MEP distribution systems including electrical distribution equipment, generators, UPS equipment, medium voltage switchgear, air handling, fluid handling, boilers, DDC control systems and Central Plant Chilled Water systems
  • Training in Electrical Safety, RF Safety Training, First Aid/CPR/AED, Confined Space Training, Fire Extinguisher Training, Spill Response Training, Flash Hazard Protection and First Responder
  • Ability to engage employees at all levels; manage multiple priorities or projects; work effectively in a team; create and drive change; communicate effectively to all levels; work both strategically and hands-on
  • Availability to respond via phone to after hours and weekend trouble calls

Responsibilities

  • Manage routine operations and emergency testing and maintenance on all MEP systems in ESPN owned and leased facilities in Bristol, CT
  • Coordinate safety measures for MEP projects for Facilities Construction & Engineering employees and outside vendors with the Director, Safety & Health
  • Manage preventative maintenance on the Bristol campus and provide assistance at remote ESPN domestic and international facilities as needed
  • Develop staff including goal preparation, strategic training, educational growth, and completing periodic Performance Reviews of direct reports
  • Assist the Director, Facilities Infrastructure Operations with assignment and coordination of day-to-day tasks
  • Lead a group of staff Electricians and HVAC technicians and/or third-party contractors as part of defined project teams
  • Enhance facilities services by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value
  • Achieve MEP maintenance operational objectives by contributing to strategic plans, preparing action plans, implementing productivity/quality/customer-service standards, resolving problems, and implementing system improvements
  • Establish schedules for equipment maintenance, track repairs, and schedule third-party repair work
  • Ensure MEP systems operate effectively in support of all buildings, with priority on technical production facilities, equipment rooms, and studios
  • Analyze and recommend actions for problems with MEP equipment and DDC building management systems
  • Coordinate on-call third-party service vendors’ response
