Requirements

Passion for process improvement and being a trusted advisor to teams
Experience in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with accounting, AP, FP&A, eCommerce/Retail, supply chain, marketing/creative operations, Commercial, Data/Technology, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams
Expertise in corporate accounting principles, GAAP, and ASPE
Knowledge of ERP, Accounting Management, and other system implementations
Strong leadership and mentoring skills for a team of accounting professionals
Excellent communication and coordination skills for month-end processes and external audits

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial results
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Coordinate with departments to capture financial data accurately and timely
Provide recommendations consistent with corporate accounting principles and GAAP compliance
Drive continuous refinements in accounting processes for efficiency and visibility into key metrics
Assist with and manage ad-hoc projects
Develop and execute initiatives for building the accounting team technology stack (ERP, Accounting Management, system implementations)
Partner cross-functionally with business units proactively for new initiatives and changes
Design, implement, and maintain internal controls for key processes
Evaluate and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal control documentation
Act as liaison to external auditors and service providers; own year-end audit and assurance engagements
Lead preparation and review of internal and external financial statements per ASPE
Ensure timely delivery of financial information to executive leadership and stakeholders
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
Foster cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, AP, Tax, Legal, and Operations
Drive process improvements and system enhancements for efficiency and accuracy
Research and implement new accounting standards and pronouncements
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions
Draft and maintain technical accounting memos and whitepapers
Own month-end close, review journal entries and financial statements, maintain detailed accounting records, and write technical accounting memos
