Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent technical education (required); Associates Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Certifications preferred
  • 3-7 years experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment with industrial mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Proven maintenance experience with plastics manufacturing equipment, including injection molding, automated assembly, or extrusion machines
  • Electrical skills and ability to read electrical drawings for troubleshooting
  • Experience with variable frequency drives (ABB, Allen-Bradley Power Flex, Emerson)
  • Familiar with PC-based control systems (command line and PowerShell experience)
  • Familiar with basic oscilloscope functions
  • Experience with centralized loading systems
  • Must have own tools (outside of specialty tools provided by Toro)
  • Experience with industrial water systems, chillers, compressors, and water systems
  • CMMS experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform upgrades, repairs, and installations throughout the facility driven by the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including instruction, manuals, records completion, and time tracking
  • Maintain continuous plastic extrusion lines running
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical failures on lines
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Assist other team members (Technician I) with more technical or advanced troubleshooting
  • Flexible work hours and overtime as needed
  • Perform functions of a maintenance technician including repairs on: motors, drives, gearboxes, heater circuits, wiring, plumbing, hydraulics, pumps, fabrication of equipment, and light machine shop work
  • Follow all requirements of Hazardous Energy Control programs, applicable NEC, ANSI, CDRH, NFPA, OSHA, Federal, State, and Local regulations (safety training provided)
  • Inspect different equipment and perform basic repairs or preventive maintenance when required
