Requirements

  • High School, GED or equivalent plus 4 to 6 years of related experience
  • Possess electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze electrical, mechanical blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance to repair, modify, or fabricate parts for mechanical equipment
  • Visual and audible analysis skills, including ability to perceive color for color-coded wiring
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electronic problems quickly and accurately
  • Working knowledge and understanding of HAZMAT, MSDS, EPA, and OSHA requirements
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts/manlifts and wear proper safety equipment/harness
  • Commitment to ongoing self-improvement in equipment, standards, codes, and maintenance procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, adjustments, overhauls, or preventive maintenance on laundry and boiler room equipment
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, repair, modify, and install machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipes, and electrical systems following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematics
  • Dismantle defective machines, replace parts and motors, and adjust feed mechanisms
  • Operate machinery to test and detect malfunctions through visual inspection, listening, and analysis
  • Provide training, guidance, and technical assistance to Maintenance Technician Level I
  • Properly and safely shut down the plant and complete morning startup procedures, logs, and work orders
  • Clean and lubricate machinery parts using appropriate tools
  • Install, align, tension, and maintain drives, bearings, shafts, brakes, and pulleys
  • Troubleshoot, operate, maintain, and repair electrical and wiring systems, including programming automated machinery
  • Comply with safety policies, wear PPE, report accidents/emergencies, and use appropriate tools
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance when serving as Engineer on duty
  • Report and collaborate with management on facility issues
  • Set and maintain a professional work environment
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and policies
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
