Qualified applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident card holder (sponsorship not available)
Must be able to do electrical, plumbing, heating and roofing repairs
Must be able to read schematics and electronic blueprints
Must be capable of servicing and operating rectifiers
Must be capable of operating precision hand tools and electronic equipment
Requires ability to set up and operate lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, power saws, welder, etc
Requires ability to plan and lay out work
Required to provide hand tools and equipment to perform normal maintenance tasks
Works with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

Keeps machinery, equipment, and plant structure in operating condition (including battery manufacturing equipment and utilities)
Repairs machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges and fits replacement parts and/or makes replacement parts as required
Checks and repairs test instruments
Moves equipment to new location
Adjusts machines for production when adjustment is beyond the scope of operator
Modifies equipment as required
Installs new equipment, including hook up of electrical power, gas, water, air, etc
Maintains and installs piping, fittings, valves, gauges and all types of controls for hydraulic systems, gas and air lines
Improvises where equipment is limited
Designs and builds small tools and fixtures from sketches or verbal instructions
Makes periodic checks of machines and equipment and performs preventive maintenance as required (e.g., oils, greases, etc.)
Performs carpentry and sheet metal work in fabricating and repairing benches, guards, boxes, trays, etc
Makes sketches for and builds racks, bins, shelves and other aids to production
Determine accurate and efficient methods and diagnoses and corrects difficulties to minimize production interruptions
May instruct or direct maintenance personnel of lower classifications
May order supplies and help maintain maintenance work records
May procure materials from secured tool crib and log out items removed from crib as assigned
