Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of maintenance management experience in a plastics extrusion or similar continuous manufacturing environment
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of extrusion equipment, drives, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking
  • Ability to use a computer, and proficiency in MS Office and other business and engineering software
  • Familiarity with profile extrusion equipment (e.g., Cincinnati Milacron, Davis-Standard, or similar)
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley Systems and basic programming/troubleshooting
  • Ability to manage several activities/projects at once, organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, prepare plans, goals, and budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to be mobile in the work environment
  • Ability to pass a drug test

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians and electricians
  • Develop and manage preventive and reactive maintenance programs for extrusion lines, ancillary equipment, and plant utilities
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions
  • Diagnose and repair issues in extrusion and downstream equipment
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize equipment performance and support process improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with production to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption
  • Manage spare parts inventory and vendor relationships
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, capital projects, and cost-saving initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
  • Support installation and commissioning of new extrusion lines or process improvements
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Oversee all maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and infrastructure
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate maintenance programs to minimize downtime, maximize production output, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards
