Requirements

Basic mechanical or maintenance skills
Knowledge in welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics, and plumbing
1 year or more experience in welding and industrial maintenance or completion of an educational/certificate program for industrial maintenance
Ability to read and understand assignments
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Ability to hear/respond to two-way radio
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors
Basic knowledge of math
Ability to use various electrical and pneumatic power tools and equipment
Certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts
Preferably respirator qualified
Willingness to pursue further education through outside training, company testing program, and vendor training
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Tolerance for frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, outside weather, risk of electrical shock, vibration; occasional exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals and extreme heat; and loud noise levels

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets
Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures
Using basic hand tools
Monitoring boiler and performing chemical tests on boiler
Reading drawings and schematics of hydraulic and basic electrical systems
Performing duties such as welding, cutting, minor electrical repair, removing/replacement of motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water and steam pipes, lines, and systems
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
