Requirements

Machinist Apprenticeship, AAS degree in Machining Technology, or equivalent
Demonstrated proficiency in all categories of Machining Technology
Ability to perform installation and set-up of “Class 5” bearings & Babbitt Bearing Fits
Competent in manipulating numbers, quantities, shapes, and spaces
Ability to take precise measurements and calculate necessary dimensions
Ability to repair machinery required in operating departments and roll shops
Valid Colorado Driver’s License
OSHA 10 and equipment certifications (as required)
Ability to climb, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and exert forces up to 50 pounds and frequently up to 100 pounds
Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision, time management skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively

Responsibilities

Machine, disassemble, and assemble parts for equipment and machines
Operate various machines including lathes, milling machines, vertical and horizontal boring mills, shapers/slotter machines, surface and cylindrical grinders, and radial drill presses
Utilize hand, power, and measuring tools
Work on bench-floor and field work, including alignments
Utilize materials such as castings, forgings, bar stock flats and rounds
Read prints and drawings, layout and plan work according to blueprints
Select proper materials and machines for precision machining
Test, inspect, dismantle, assemble, and repair machined product accurately
Observe all safety rules and LOTO procedures
Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly
Perform routine maintenance and assist Maintenance personnel
Work in both inside and outside environmental conditions (exposed to noise, oils, solvents, extreme temperatures, and proximity to moving parts)
Obtain and maintain OSHA 10 and equipment certifications as required
Perform additional tasks as assigned
